    -prosessi luotiin EU-parlamentin ryhmien aloitteesta lisäämään avoimuutta ja demokratiaa, mutta jäsenvaltiot kävelivät sen yli niin murskaavasti, ettei yksikään kärkiehdokkaista saanut mitään merkittävää tehtävää.

    Ensi viikolla olisi jälleen luvassa jännittäviä -hetkiä, kun parlamentti äänestää von der Leyenin luottamuksesta. Mielenkiintoista nähdä, onko :n mahdollinen plan B vaatimus :lle -ehdotuksesta vai kompromissiehdokas (joka jo on). Alla pohdintaa.

    Jos joku ei toimi, se kannattaa muuttaa. taitaa olla semmoinen juttu. "Ei tilanne täysin toivoton ole, mutta.." - Unionilla on nyt pätevä, EU-myönteinen johto, mutta sen valinta oli jakolinjoja syventävä sotku

    Isossa kuvassa melko hyvät valinnat. Toki harmi että joku toinen , esim. Suomesta olisi voinut mennä läpi.

    Jep. Muutenkin on epävarmaa suostuisiko EPP enää hyväksymään 'eista muita kuin Weberin. Enkä ole edelleenkään varma, oliko EPP:n parlamenttiryhmä Osaka-diilinkään takana.

    En epäile lainkaan von der Leyenin tiukkuutta tai pätevyyttä, mutta itäiset jäsenmaat torjuivat n juuri hänen toiminnalla perusarvojen puolesta. No, samalla meni viemäriin idea.

    Hyvä summaus EU:n johtopaikkojen valinnasta . Semmoinen tarkennus, että kärkiehdokkaiden tv-väittely järjestettiin ensimmäisen kerran jo 2014 eurovaalien alla.

    Don’t remember seeing Ursula Von Der Leyden on the ballot paper? Anywhere in the EU. Nor anyone suggesting a vote for them was a vote for her? Nor do I know anyone who’s ever heard of her. But hey, the EU is democratic so shut up.
