    I used to think: changing my thoughts changed my feelings. It worked to a degree. But after (re)learning how to cry at ’s workshop this weekend, I started to see that it might work even better the other way around, processing my feelings changes my thoughts.

  18. I think part of the reason people have tried to assemble a "radically reclaim emotions" stance like and failed is that crying is not automatically a liberatory experience. You have to be practiced at transformation and it's not immediately obvious what you did.

    (: is this the thing? Also, how do you do this stuff safely? How do you go through and 'complete' the feelings instead of just making them all intense and then get stuck & with worse feelings than before? Sometimes if I skip steps of Gendlin focusing, this happens.)
