    This is America. I am a federal employee going to work every day to keep people safe, and I am not receiving a paycheck. I love my job and want to keep it, but with lack of progress, I have to start searching for a job with pay. This is America.

    The Trump administration opted not to shutter national parks during the shutdown. So instead, people are entering w/o paying fees, and the parks are getting trashed. Via @meghancuniff

    No federal employee can sustain "months or years" without pay. Most are already hurting. Next payroll date is Jan-16. If this is still ongoing on Jan-17, I say we all have a general . When the government REALLY shuts down, this nonsense will stop!

    Weird. President Trump said yesterday landlords will be fine with us furloughed feds not paying rent but when I asked my landlord Tina said 'absolutely no concessions are being made' to delay rent for me during this shutdown.

    I’m a federal contractor who is not working and will never get back pay. Border security is important, but so is making sure my children eat. does not speak for me or the many thousands of others who just want to do the work we were hired to do.

    Don’t forget about the federal contractors who are going without pay because of the President’s shutdown. A lot of folks are struggling right now.

    It's not only about paying bills, almost 1 miion employees and along with contractors are having their credit degraded so they will be paying more for everything they purchase for years to come.

    Due to the government shutdown I will not be attending a game with my kids this year. Food, electricity, gas and fuel are up in the air as well.
