    Not all ancient glass was luxurious. Glassblowing sped up the manufacturing process and rendered it cheaper. Blown glass vessels became mass-produced in shops that could put out 100 vessels a day. Vessels differed in appearance and cost. The quality varied widely.

    True, the crisis of the 1920s did not lead to a revolution or civil war. It was resolved with the reforms of the New Deal. But. (1) The memory of the 1860 Civil War was still fresh then. (2) Such positive outcomes are only 10-15% in the Crisis DB the project is building.

    Was waiting for the ebook then I saw some philistine comments on the Nature article re this book along the lines of “but we already knew this from the qual lit...” Then I decided to buy the physical book to support & quant history in general (not the same as econ hist)
