    Every American, no matter his/her background or record, reserves the right to obtain a higher education degree. brings dignity into prisons by allowing the incarcerated to attend and afford college. This is the we need.

    Prison will take a person's dignity and Humanity way and relegate them to being a number. I was 214579 for 13 and 1/2 years. Education in prison allowed me to regain the humanity and to give me a hope for my future. It helped change my my trajectory.

  8. ? Incarcerated individuals who participate in prison education programs are 43% less likely to return to prison than those who do not. We're expanding our programs to more locations so more students can be prepared for successful careers upon reentry.

  12. A few formerly incarcerated ppl at Convening have noted the importance of ppl in prisons being able to reimagine their identity as someone who can complete a college education. “College Behind Bars,” on in Nov, will help accomplish this.

  15. I had an incredible day visiting the Westville Correctional Facility – one of our experimental sites. These students are seizing the opportunity to turn their lives around by pursuing education while incarcerated & preparing themselves for careers upon release.
