    Hurricane Katrina just about destroyed New Orleans... but in its aftermath the schools were privatized. That increased the damage for both kids & teachers.

    Charter Schools have financial incentives to push out kids who are expensive to educate. They have marketing incentives to push out kids w low test scores. They care more about stockholders than students.

    Charter Schools "sweep" their public school dollars into private management companies. As businesses, they have no legal obligation to act in the best interests of taxpayers or kids.
