It's that time of year that my new normal is feeling nostalgic. I miss attending (I just can't wrap my head around the new name) and seeing so many happy CAD geeks and my family.

Another BD blouse for sale with unit titles. Strong inference of some interesting pedigree or such. Problem is that when soldiers went to the MBLU, their BD would be taken, washed, deloused, and the set you got back... was unlikely to be yours.

During WWII, B-24 heavy bombers were not pressurized/heated. At altitude, the temperature could reach -50 degrees. Boys of the 44th Bomb Group in England pictured here getting into sheepskin-lined leather flying suits.

Problem is it isn't a WW2 Bofors. It's sat on the market for a *long* time now, and is clearly undesirable at the point. It's an extensively refitted (probably) wartime Bofors (no explicit date so...) to a spec that didn't exist in WW2. Complete hodgepodge.

It is also notable that the display solutions appear very Anglo-centric in visual approach. The Smithsonian hits it out of the park with their integrated narrative regarding Memphis Belle. This looks... a retrograde step for UK Heritage PLC.

Finally, we looked at extensive papers relating to Gen CWM Norrie of XXX Corps. Some interesting comments about some big names, and wonderful correspondence with Strafer Gott, who was to take command of 8th Army ahead of Montgomery. Fascinating detail about Corps command

Above image from PDSA/WarHistoryOnline, Judy being awarded Dickin medal, 1946. She & Frank Williams, who originally convinced camp commandant to register her (only dog POW in ), would go on to raise money for charities at dog shows across the UK. She died in 1950, age 14.
