There actually _are_ a series of
#SCOTUS cases about "military eminent domain," i.e., seizures of property during wartime that don't require payment of just compensation. But they're all based upon military _necessity_. For more, here's me back in 2007: https://law.lclark.edu/live/files/9549-lcb114art5vladekpdf … -
The foreign government-owned corporation at the heart of the mystery, sealed
#SCOTUS case has filed its reply in support of its application to stay the contempt fine. Presumably, this clears the way for a ruling on the stay—as early as this afternoon: https://www.supremecourt.gov/search.aspx?filename=/docket/docketfiles/html/public/18a669.html …pic.twitter.com/5AV1YDkepN

Keeping fingers crossed that the
#SCOTUS still means something in this country or became just another anti-American gerrymandered court for the rich/establishment elites/@GOP.https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1081281562833027072 … -
It's go time! We will be at the U.S. Supreme Court in March arguing why North Carolina's partisan gerrymander is unconstitutional. https://www.commoncause.org/press-release/supreme-court-agrees-to-hear-two-partisan-gerrymandering-cases-rucho-v-common-cause-and-lamone-v-benisek/ …

#SCOTUS ruled Police are not protection of people. They have no Constitutional duty to protect citizens. They are to uphold and enforce laws. pic.twitter.com/T9CQd0OmXf

BREAKING:
#SCOTUS will hear our historic case challenging partisan gerrymandering in North Carolina (Common Cause v. Rucho) in March. Read about the case at http://www.commoncause.org/rucho https://twitter.com/SCOTUSblog/status/1081281088880852993 … -
2. Second, the
#SCOTUS CJ Roberts ordered (we presume Mueller's Govt team) to respond to the secret Grand Jury case stay he granted by Dec. 31 at noon. They did it three days early. I think this case may be the Rosneft bribe reported in the Steele dossier. Trump knows if it is. pic.twitter.com/NQF1P0L4nG

I feel like there was once a major
#SCOTUS case in which the President seized property within the United States during what he claimed was a national emergency even though Congress hadn't authorized him to do so. (It didn't end well for the President.) https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/343/579 …https://twitter.com/PhilipRucker/status/1081277036465963008 …Show this thread -
A three-judge district court found that North Carolina's congressional districts were an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander. These kinds of cases come up to
#SCOTUS on "appeal" not a "cert. petition" and a ruling not to hear an appeal means the lower court got it right. /2Show this thread -
