    The teacher voice in NM should reflect the diversity of the state. Teacher unions do not speak for me. As a member of the Secretary Teacher Advisory I’ve had more opportunities to advocate for the diverse needs of students in Shiprock.

    have higher HS grad rates but lower college-going rates - when parents and local leaders are worried about brain drain, is pushing going away to college always best for the community? reflects. The rural has to be a separate focus w/rural voices.
