Slides from my
#rstudioconf talk about queryparser, tidyquery, and all things SQL ⇄ dplyr! I'll share the recording when it's up#rstats https://github.com/ianmcook/rstudioconf2020 … -
I spent four years learning to run efficient regression analyses in R. Now I've written them into some handy functions so you won't have to. https://medium.com/@dyudkin/custom-r-regression-functions-you-might-find-useful-8f58d610f41 …

I wrote a quick
#rstats blogpost: "Six Things I Always Google When Using ggplot2"
What do you always have to look up when creating your #ggplot2 graphs?

I just learned that in
@rstudio when you press ALT (and keep it pressed) it’s possible to select code in a rectangle and change it!! … Why didn’t I know this???

I can’t say I’ve ever seen Google say “You’ve visited this page many times” rather than listing the number of times. My
#RStats “knowledge” is just googling the same things over and over I guess. pic.twitter.com/kIrlVvWIb8

The first time I met Robert Gentleman, I asked him something like “… and what do you work on?” In my defense, this was much earlier in the trajectory of
#rstats and my relationship to it, but still

If you want to quickly up-level your
#rstats tidyverse game, I highly recommend watching@drob's "Ten Tremendous Tricks in the Tidyverse" talk. Each trick is demonstrated with examples from his code in his#tidytuesday screencasts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDHSBUN_rVU …pic.twitter.com/ix0Buzopze

Asked to write a chapter about RNA-seq counts modeling, I used
#rstats bookdown to put all the material online. Includes some new workflow pieces like tximeta for import and swish for transcript level: http://mikelove.github.io/counts-model -
Little
#rstats tip: While you can easily toggle the display of R code with `code_folding` in#rmarkdown, it's less easy to toggle the *output* of your code. Though there's a (relatively) straightforward way to do this using the beauty of `html_tabsets`. Here's a quick demo!pic.twitter.com/FP7JGsNVaVPrikaži ovu nit -
Turns out I’m COMMIT-ed to using
@github. Had a nightmare that my computer crashed and I lost my code. Only to realize (in the dream) I PUSHED it to my repo, and all was well. And to all a goodnight.@DrChelseaLWood@ClaarDanielle@openscapes#rstats pic.twitter.com/yidvV4oHD8 -
I'd like to start a CRAN Task View for network analysis. What

TIL: I learnt about the conflicted
My filter function always gets masked, so my solution till today was dplyr::filter.
But there is a better way! You can set your function:library preference at the top of your script!
e.g. conflict_prefer("filter", "dplyr")

The decline of the Irish language in the 19th century is pretty astonishing. In the space of 50 years a lot places went from everyone being able to speak Irish to a small fraction

#Rstats: Is your QQ-plot generated from a normally distributed process? Draw random data from a norm dist of the same length as your data set over & over. This will give you a good idea of how a normal QQ-plot should look. Try it with `ggpubr::ggqqplot()` for easy plots#phdchatpic.twitter.com/vJmFcArNrv -
Quick R tip: The {goodpractice} package can examine your #rstats code for improvements with up to 230 checks, including:
R CMD check
test coverage
cyclomatic complexity
code style
imports and exports and more

In the
#rstats community, we don't say "I love you". We say "yes, my code for this plot/analysis is open source and you can find it here" and I think that's beautiful. https://twitter.com/jazzydomenique/status/1220259706050088966 … -
