    Every Black family had this conversation yesterday. "Imagine if they were Black." This is a country where Black people get shot when running *away* from the police. It was a stunning display of White privilege. Thank you President !

    No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protestors yesterday that they wouldn’t have been treated very differently than the mob that stormed the Capitol. We all know that’s true — and it’s unacceptable.

    The ex-Atlanta police chief who quit after the police killing of will lead Louisville police, whose officers escaped charges for killing . Erika Shields resigned after firing the officer who killed Brooks in June. She will be sworn in on January 19.

    Rayshard Brooks was killed by an Atlanta police officer Friday, June 12th, 2020 while running for his life. The next day Atlanta's police chief resigned. Today she was hired as Louisville's new police chief.⁣ ⁣ Now we know why the police chief finalists were kept secret.⁣

    I’m not the most excited about Louisville’s new police chief and the shooting she recently resigned from but she did say something that caught my ear. “The police officers out there , you are no longer going to get the benefit of the doubt in the world today.”

    Don't let this get lost in the chaos of yesterday: Louisville PD hired the former Atlanta police chief who lost her job over their murder of Rayshard Brooks. How can we expect better policing if officers always seem to get away with their misconduct? Breonna deserves justice.
