    This is great news. Are there plans on getting more pay for gas station, fast food & grocery store workers? $8.70 is a slap in the face for "essentials" on the front lines since day one!

    You know who needs a union? Everyone. Corporations have gotten greedy, inconsiderate of their employees at every level and have the power to fire you in many states without reason. Minimum wage should be higher, employees need protection and a voice.

    The recession will affect minimum wage workers the most. We can take a just and humane step to remedy this in our state with the promise of a living wage. In November, vote "yes" on Amendment 2.

    Federal minimum wage is still $7.25 hour. While some states have increased theirs, others like my state of WI continue to follow the federal wage. No one can live on that. Anyone who tries will need SNAP and other govt services. Make the companies pay.
