    Very sad news that Paddy Ashdown has died. He did a lot for our country and was a great servant for our country. I always had a lot of for him growing up. The have never been the same since he stepped down.

    Truly distraught about - he perfectly blended idealism with pragmatism, and led us to great success in the 1990s. He was my political hero, as he was to many others. I’ll miss him.

    Really sad news about . Always came across as a decent, honest bloke and he passionately favoured and spoke eloquently on . Politics is poorer for his passing.
