  2. Still so many crescent moon images to share from yesterday, including this one from the West End Bridge. The moon was sandwiched between PPG Place and the festively lit Oxford Center in , and with the Christmas tree reflecting in the river, made for an incredible view.

A lot of planning goes into my images of the moon and , and today was no exception. I headed up to the West End Overlook at little after 3 this morning to frame up this image, of the crescent moon rising behind PPG Place and the Christmas tree. Worked out pretty well.

  4. For a few minutes this morning, I thought we were in for an epic sunrise in . However as quickly as the color appeared, it began to fade, but not before creating some incredible scenes. I captured this view at the peak of the color, with pink clouds filling the sky.

Every year, I'm always so busy with the other decorations around that I end up forgetting about the huge red bow on the Negley-Gwinner-Harter House in Shadyside until it's too late. Well, this year I put it at the top of my list, and it was just as cool as I imagined.

Just about wrapping up my snowglobe series for this storm. Hopefully we'll get another one before Christmas, as I have a couple more shots in mind. Until then, here are a few more images of the Horne's tree, one with a lightspeed effect and one looking straight up.

Usually when Heinz Field is lit up at night, there's a Steeler home game in , which means no helicopter flights. But on the night of this flight last year, the stadium was glowing bright, making for a pretty spectacular scene you don't see everyday.
