We speculate the big difference between our pathological image based model vs. another model (published in
#psb20 proceedings) where the images were not predictive (c- index almost 0.5), was due to our patholigst collaborators who helped us to identify tumor regions first. 3/nPrikaži ovu nit -
If you enjoyed the
#PSB20 tweets and are wondering, how can I read more? Well you're in luck, the proceedings from our#AI for Enhancing Clinical Medicine session is published here: https://psb.stanford.edu/psb-online/proceedings/psb20/#ai …@jonc101x@olgafan@kidzik#machinelearning -
That is a wrap on the 25th
#PSB20! I have been coming to this#bioinformatics conference for 20 years and this was definitely the best one yet! I especially loved all the awesome AI/ML content. Thanks so much to all the organizers and participants. Can't wait for#PSB21! -
Another risky thought (/confession) on
#GenderBias (and#bias more generally)- I'm guilty myself. I have caught myself making assumptions about the rank or capabilities of other#WomenInSTEM. It's not us vs. them. It's all of us. Awareness is a key first step to change.#PSB20 -
Great
#PSB20 comments about grad admissions by@RoxanaDaneshjou and@pebourne making the point that distance traveled in early career by disadvantaged candidates is a great predictor of future trajectory as GRIT can be the major component of success in science.Prikaži ovu nit -

Thanks so much to
@GreeneScientist and#PSB20 for naming me "Sustained Research Parasite" of the year! I've never received an award with such an awesome title before and I'm sure it'll make a great conversation piece for grad student admit interviews :) https://twitter.com/GreeneScientist/status/1214017784897658880 …

Our junior
#ParasiteAward, just announced at#PSB20, goes to@aayushraman. Dr. Raman gathered numerous datasets to get to the bottom of a hypothesis related to gene expression in MeCP2 syndromes. Congratulations Dr. Raman! https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-05627-1 …pic.twitter.com/bjoIvYWxp0
