    Today I am tied up in mtgs but is having a review of April flight operations. Deputy Project Scientist Dr Kelsi Singer will be acting PI @ that review, allowing the review to proceed w/o delay & giving a key training opportunity for Dr Singer.

    Today I got to have some old-school physics fun, tracing uncertainty through the calculations we'll use to measure polarization of light with PUNCH. Sometimes being a PI is all about shredding through some gnarly algebra.

    DPI for yesterday: had a really productive talk with PI and HQ about handling requirements and mission success criteria. Defining all of these is not as easy as one might think; they need to clearly capture the science and be verifiable

    Purpose of Critical Design Reviews: Determine readiness to proceed w implementation inc fab, assembly, integration, & test. Over two days we'll examine all eng. aspects, inc. interface control docs, status of design drawings, test results, much more.

    Today (Sunday) I'm at Cape Canaveral, attending the last pre-launch Science Working Team (SWT) meeting for (SolO), as part of the team. Solar Orbiter, scheduled to launch 9-Feb, has a lot of synergy with PUNCH.
