    I have 2 children in elementary school w/ wonderful teachers. They care for their students & sometimes it’s a thankless job. Since we don’t pay their salaries at the natl average, the least we can do is leave their $250 tax deduction alone!

    Almost all of my classroom has been funded . Lawmakers trying to take away the teacher tax deduction leaves me feeling sad, angry & unappreciated.

    I purchased every student’s back to school supplies. I have NO teacher budget. All the pencils, staplers, staples etc. come from me. I buy breakfast food for my students weekly. Please don’t let congress take away my ability to take care of my students.

    You're in the majority! Many of our members spend at least that much on their classrooms every year.

    I too debated whether to buy textbooks and workbooks because there weren’t enough to go round, so I did it and hope for a reimbursement.Why? So my would have what they need. Supplies e.g.pencils, markers, folders, binders, notebooks are annual gifts.

    Just restocked the student supplies so kids can get their work done. (Doesn't include the snack cart for the kids who didn't get breakfast.)

    One picture shows what the school system provided when I moved to the newly built school. The other picture shows the items brought on the moving truck that had been in storage for the summer. Everything on the truck (and the truck rental) was paid for

    I have 2 bookshelves in my classroom full of YA books for students to read. Bought them all.
