    - I’ll just say that this wasn’t too long ago, at all. So never tell Native people to “get over it” bc this was just a generation or two ago. Some of our parents or grandparents lived this & this trauma still carries on.

    CBE & CCSD Orange Shirt Day Event!  Jack James HS & Forest Lawn HS dual campus was asked to lead the march. JJ fashion made our beautiful banner.  They were stopped MANY times as they marched though people wanted a picture of the amazing banner

    As we wear our orange shirts today, I think of our Kookum's and Nishomis', our aunties and uncles, our brothers and sisters, our sons and daughters who have been hurt by the genocide of the residential school system.

    Some of the whites at residential schools created instruments of torture specifically for Indigenous kids, such as a small electric chair for shocking them. And tiny handcuffs like these.
