    The disembarkation of the 201 remaining survivors from is now complete. As rescue operations only legally end once survivors are disembarked in a Place of Safety, the 5 rescues of 247 people from unseaworthy boats in distress last weekend/Monday are now complete.

    The disembarkation of survivors from the has started in Pozzallo, with some of the unaccompanied minors and medical cases leaving the ship first. After surviving distress at sea, they had to wait on board up to 7 days, sailing through a storm. We wish them well.

    Good news on the Mediterranean Sea: After the was detained more than two weeks ago after a port state control, it has now been released after another control in Trapani and is preparing for it‘s next mission in the central Mediterranean Sea.

    Over the weekend, the crew of the rescued 228 people from distress at sea in four rescue operations. Today, another 19 people were rescued from distress at sea. The 247 rescued people on board the Ocean Viking now need a port of safety.
