    staff got so much out of our writing moderation after school today! We all shared our knowledge and it was so interesting to see the journey from Reception to Year 5 (we’re a new school and don’t have Year 6 yet!)

    I'm hoping that more schools in Wales will sign up with . Aside from the brilliant reports, reliable data and potential for improving learning, taking part now will provide a baseline for writing (and other areas) pre-CfW. This is a great way to track progress.

    There’s a whole movement in the UK against providing indiv written feedback on assignments () which has led to awesome, thoughtful practices in giving “whole class feedback” and using what calls “comparative judgment”

  9. has had a huge impact on developing subject knowledge and a culture of shared responsibility for improving writing across the school. This week we judge our first whole school task and it will be exciting to include our YR children’s amazing writing

  14. Actually enjoying ‘marking’ with our new feedback system. Really quick and really informative so that students can really own their gaps and deliberately focus on plugging them.

  16. Wow! Year 3 have just completed our No More Marking task! What incredible writers we have! The children were rewarded with presents for writing in the present tense! These amazing scripts are all from EAL children!

    Love this from ... This is what assessment is. A teacher sat beside a child responding to their learning... not an exit card, not post-it notes, not a purple pen. Just a teacher giving feedback to a child.
