During a debate years ago over a gun safety bill I authored when I was a county legislator, the head of our local NRA affiliate said (in front of witnesses): “I’d rather see some children die than do anything that would jeopardize my 2nd Amendment rights.” #NoNRA #NeverAgain

yesterday, i was supposed to have my last theatre show ever. instead, 10 of my classmates got killed. #neveragain

The sad thing is that we have stricter rules about the clothes girls can wear to school than we do about guns #NeverAgain

I got rid of all my guns exactly 40 years ago, before the birth of my first child at the insistence of my then wife. Was the best directive I ever received. Raised six children without a firearm incident. Never missed owning a gun. Took up the long bow, but that's it. #NeverAgain

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results" Though they are appreciated and important, relying on thoughts and prayers to fix our nation's gun violence epidemic is quite literally insane #NeverAgain

More lives have been lost to gun violence in schools than Active-Duty US military deaths this year. That means in 2018 so far it has been safer to be an active-duty military member than a school student. No more empty words. It is time for action. #NeverAgain

It's so difficult to shout #NeverAgain with as much conviction when I am constantly losing hope for our country and our government. I can only say the same phrase so many times, but it keeps happening again and again and again and again...

Every other nations has mental health issues. Every other country plays video games. Every other country has violent movies & rap videos. Every other nations has disgruntled young men & white supremacists. What do they have that we don't have? Gun control laws! #NeverAgain

I have read about three shootings that have happened in the past 36 hours. Southeast DC. Santa Fe, Texas. Clayton County, Georgia. 12 are dead. The majority were between 15 & 18 years old. I am not shocked. I am furious. I am ready to continue this fight. #NEVERAGAIN

Gun violence in this country now needs to be treated as a public health issue. The CDC needs to be funded to do the kind of research on this now-epidemic proportion issue (prevented by Congress and lobbied against by the NRA). #NeverAgain

the fire alarm goes off and everyone looks at each other and waits to leave the class because we’re afraid if we go outside someone will be waiting with a gun. our teacher was hesitant to let us leave. this shouldn’t happen. we need change. #NeverAgain
