    When you're trying to write a cover letter conveying how amazing/important/valuable you think ocean exploration is - and finds a freaking WHALE FALL while they are exploring the ocean! Can't ask for much better writing inspiration than this 😁

    These octopuses, fish, crabs, etc are scavenging the whale fall. There are also worms around sediment...some of the them specialize in eating bones!!

  19. Who you calling a frogfish?!... Oh wait. This is ACTUALLY a frogfish! Frogfish hunt by snapping open their jaws to create a vacuum that sucks in water and prey!! 🐸🐟This fish was spotted by in the deep sea near Howland Island NWR.
