    This is a challenging time for NUS, its no excuse for shunning democracy

    made a comment on any NUS reforms have got to go through NUS democratic processes and not just made - I completely agree!!!

    This thread is absolutely VITAL reading for anyone involved with , any and certainly anyone on the . The truth must be shared. The ZF will continue to support and Jewish students to find a safe space in whatever way we can. Thank you UJS.

    THREAD - NUS have decided NOT to debate an emergency motion today put forward by Jewish students about banning the Hizballah flag at this Sunday's Al Quds Day. They will however be debating another BDS motion.

    Yday I was proud to argue against BDS at & propose an amendment supporting self determination for Jews & Palestinians thru two states by building bridges & promoting dialogue. This is the route to peace. Shame NUS voted against this and for BDS. Here are my 2 speeches⤵️

    "dialogue and trust building" is useless when the occupying power has broken every single ceasefire ever called.

    Peace can only be achieved through dialogue and trust building, not boycotts and one sided motions. I urge members, if you want peace, vote down BDS.

    Take note, - showing how it's done. Uni management have laughed at our calls for mental health funding, so students are set to disrupt an open day. When asking nicely fails - as it will if your asks are big enough - you need a strategy for material leverage.

    Reminder that we will be protesting in the South Quad to call for better mental health provision from 2.30pm - see you there.

    So brave of to talk about the failures of NUS to call out Nazi imagery at universities, and how seeing it on campuses has now become normalised. NUS needs to stand with Jewish students and stand against this.
