  2. As a military veteran, I did not wear the uniform so that my service and that of millions of others can be exploited to silence black athletes protesting racism in this country. This is white supremacy, pure and simple. It's shameful and mocks our military's sacrifices.

  3. I hope every Black player stays in the locker room. I hope non-Black players will too. Let’s see who’s down for the cause and who’s all talk.

"Black people can either keep their mouths shut or sit in the back". Sounds familiar, yeah? In 1964 we needed fucking government legislation to ensure the rights of black and brown people. Let's stop pretending racism isn't completely systemic here. Fuck the .

I am embarrassed, as a pro football fan, by the 's new policy. The freedom to peacefully protest is a core American value. The NFL had the chance to vindicate that freedom and instead chose to squelch it to protect its bottom line. The league should do better and be better.

I presume that out of respect for that national anthem, owners will ensure that all the concession lines are closed and Wi-Fi services turned off within the stadium. Either that, or they’re hypocrites that prioritize profit over "proper respect". There’s no middle ground.

The NFL punishing athletes for taking a knee in response to police brutality & inequality in justice system is another example in a long history of white men using power & economic threats to "put black men in their place". Old, tired & lame af.

The has always been run with a “owner slave” mentality. So are people really surpised they are making players stand?

Not a single owner voted against the new racist policy that intentionally targets black organizing by fining players who protest during the anthem. This is corporate greed like any other--putting profits above people--and every team is complicit.

Anyone who has a problem w/the crybabies should watch how hockey teams stand for two anthems, while the crowd sings along to both of them. If you want to protest, don’t cash your check. Do the right thing & show respect, especially for these old school veterans in attendance
