I am embarrassed, as a pro football fan, by the #NFL's new policy. The freedom to peacefully protest is a core American value. The NFL had the chance to vindicate that freedom and instead chose to squelch it to protect its bottom line. The league should do better and be better.

I presume that out of respect for that national anthem, #NFL owners will ensure that all the concession lines are closed and Wi-Fi services turned off within the stadium. Either that, or they’re hypocrites that prioritize profit over "proper respect". There’s no middle ground.

The #NFL has always been run with a “owner slave” mentality. So are people really surpised they are making players stand?

Not a single #NFL owner voted against the new racist policy that intentionally targets black organizing by fining players who protest during the anthem. This is corporate greed like any other--putting profits above people--and every team is complicit.
