    Nicknamed "Molar Berg", the block is the biggest calving event on the Amery Ice Shelf in 50 years. As reported by Antarctica's newest iceberg is 1,573 sq km and to be 248m thick on average.

    Ok, so here’s your update. and have put the tape measure on our current favourite chunk of ice in . 1,573 sq km; 248m thick on average (340m thick at its peak).
