I was out looking for wildlife today for about 3 hours. Couldn't spot anything other than Sparrows, Mallards and swans. I was just about to give up and go to the pub, then I spotted some Mistle Thrush.

Came across these 3 when I was checking sheep in the fog this morning; 2
#hares and a#buzzard. A#RedKite was overhead and despite the gloom, the#Mistlethrush was singing in the woodland margin at the edge of the field.#farmlandwildlife#farmingfornaturepic.twitter.com/Red31cL150

#Mistletoe particularly noticeable y’day on the Lime at#BurghleyHouse! An important, declining habitat. Adds a splash of colour, too. The (red-listed)#MistleThrush is fond of the berries & was in attendance.@WoodlandTrust@lovelifechrisp@NearbyWild@BSBIbotanypic.twitter.com/cSeqQjfsok

Watching a mistle thrush this morning, picking off the yew berries in the churchyard opposite where I am staying at the moment. Another and a redwing also feeding.

I’m hoping this is a mistle thrush? If so, a new visitor to the garden.

I’m thinking
#MistleThrush ( Turdus viscivorus) as it was quite large and the belly spots are more rounded. Happy to be corrected if it’s a Song Thrush... always confusing

Just listen to this glorious song greeting me this frosty morning in my garden. Yo can just make the
#mistlethrush out atop the Lime trees. I’m smiling from ear to ear@BTO_GBW@BTO_GLOS@Natures_Voice@Britnatureguide@NatureUKpic.twitter.com/NSGC32W4JH -
The old name for a mistle thrush is a storm cock- after their habit of perching at the tops of tall trees during winter storms and singing mournfully. Have you heard one yet?

A trying start to the day was instantly brightened by the
#mistlethrush who flew down and sat on an elder bush 6 feet away from me, while I filled up the horses haynets. He's just arrived for winter and sings in the cherry tree in the garden to claim his territory. It is a joy! -
