Isn’t it interesting that the people who deny that climate change is why the Australian fires are so severe, are “columnists” and “commentators” and not “firefighters” or “scientists”?

  3. has confirmed to me, more than ever, that the world would be a better and more educated place if everyone at Sky News (and News Corp in Aus and globally) disappeared off the face of the earth.

  4. Tonight on : Denial and deflection - How News Corp’s biggest stars covered Australia’s bushfire emergency. A Media Watch feature. Tonight. 9.15.

“When you’re running fires under severe, extreme or worse conditions, hazard reduction has very little effect at all.”

  6. God, between the horror movie-level , a damning and depressing AF and this heartbruising —complete with piss-poor and infuriatingly defensive responses from Jim Molan—it’s a mournful night on the ABC. Hell, it’s a mournful moment for Australia.

  7. You can tell the Sky News After Dark brigade are raucous frauds because they only share their airtime with eachother. Andrew Bolt never talks to a climate scientist, or any expert. Just other weirdos and oddball colleagues. They’re too gutless to be challenged.

  13. . Fellow Prof Chris Dickman estimated that Australia has lost at least a billion birds, mammals & reptiles this season. On this measure alone, the scale of these bushfires is unprecedented anywhere in the world

  14. The unbearable asymmetry of bullshit: “The amount of energy necessary to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it.” - Brandolini (2013)

  15. Rowan Dean is talking about unprecedented stupidity. For once Sky News After Dark got in a subject matter expert.

  16. Coming up on : Nothing to see here - News Corp’s loudest voices argue the summer fires have nothing to do with climate change. A Media Watch feature. Tonight. 9.15.

. Correct me if I’m wrong, but none of the commentators who whip themselves into a frenzy of denial have any relevant expertise

I have a strong suspicion that every episode this year will simply be variations on a theme i.e. "Here's a bunch of lies and stupid things conservatives put out there."

. hitting strong in the first . I've missed Monday nights so much.

is playing examples of SkyNews denialism and the thing that stands out most is all the hosts talk loud and slowly like the audience is hard of hearing or have poor comprehension.
