  3. AFTERNOON UPDATE... Light to moderate rain is now making its way across the Mississippi River into Central Mississippi. Temperatures have risen into the mid to upper 60s, but will cool down as the showers overspread the region.

    Beautiful day in Starkville today, after we had the severe weather move through late last night into early this morning. This trend should continue through the week with temps in the mid 70s.

    HWY 90 inundation with some sand and water in the west and east bound lanes after midday storms.

  12. FLASH FLOOD WATCH... Several inches of rain is in the forecast for much of South Mississippi. Most of the area will be under a *Flash Flood Watch* until Saturday morning. Watch for flooded roads, and turn around, don't drown!

    A lone lightning bolt across the Mississippi River this morning as storms roll in! ⚡️ This strike was in Delta, LA as seen from downtown Vicksburg.

    700AM: ⛈️ Watching a band of heavy rain racing east across the Southshore/Northshore and eventually coastal MS later this morning. CAREFUL if driving, watch for localized flash flooding!

  15. EVENING FORECAST... Central Mississippi will be cloudy this evening, but skies will start clearing late. In the Pine Belt, most stay dry, but there is a chance of light showers through late evening. A mainly dry forecast is coming up at 6 on 12 News on WJTV!

  16. RIVER LEVELS UPDATE... The Mississippi River is forecast to fall below flood stage over the next week or so. However, recent heavy rains have the levels on the Big Black, Yazoo, and Pearl Rivers rising. Here are the latest numbers and forecasts.
