This distinction is going to come up a lot this spring during session for #mileg.
MI #charterschools are public schools and should be fully subject to all financial reporting requirements that any agency in the state is.

In truth, charters have been trying to have it both ways for a long time: They claim they're "public" when anyone points out they aren't fiscally neutral, but run away when taxpayers insist they be subject to the same regulations & standards of transparency as school districts.
