This whole "the pandemic is over" vibe from today's presser is bringing back some weird deja vu. Just can't put my finger on it...

This is a *significant* change in tone. I hope we can count on the "kids don't get COVID" crowd to do the right thing & quickly replace their bumper stickers. Or maybe they're ok with kids eating their dust.

Fact check: You can say that we're moving to a post-pandemic Manitoba all you want, but in no way is the pandemic remotely close to being over.

Grabbed some lunch, didn't even look to see if masks requested, it's literally the simplest action one can take to protect our community

If you’re wondering what could possibly be worse than today’s public health announcement, wait for Thursday’s back-to-school announcement, Manitoba.

Reminder that most parents don't have a choice about whether to send their kids into schools this fall because they've no alternative & many
#teachers will violate their divisional policies if they speak out against the#backtoschool plan publicly. Silence isn't approval.#Mbpoli -
#mbpoli Movie theatres in Manitoba can only open to 50% capacity ONLY to FULLY VACCINATED people. Why then do these same rules NOT apply to university classrooms? In what world does this make sense? https://globalnews.ca/news/8036964/manitoba-movie-theatres-open-fully-vaccinated/ … -
Manitoba Public Health has made itself irrelevant with unjustifiable and reckless health orders. Even the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench is setting its own policy. Pretty bad when judges can craft a better health policy.

If you are angry with this gong show of a press conference, then use it. Organize against this PC government that clearly has abandoned MBs. Peacefully protest. Write op-eds. Keep you & your family safe. And get political - there are saner options for gov than this mess.

Doesn’t “living with the virus” include the government making that safer and easier through mandates and program spending? I think what Brent Roussin means is, ‘you all are going to have to learn to deal with this on your own’

#mbpoli What's the LEAST we can do for our children? Wear masks. This is a complete capitulation to the anti-mask / anti-vaxx / pro-Fox / pro-Trump crowd of cranks, loons and zealots by Pallister and his out-of-touch cabinet. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/criticism-no-mask-mandate-manitoba-back-to-school-plan-1.6131602 … -
What we’re learning about Manitoba today: a gross percentage of the population is fine with kids getting sick, being disabled or dying so they won’t be inconvenienced by wearing a mask

The elimination of (most) pandemic restrictions in Manitoba directly correlates to the PR disaster Brian Pallister created over the last 2 weeks and you will not convince me otherwise.

Masks still mandatory in City if Selkirk facilities and on Selkirk Transit. Safety of our staff and citizens is paramount.

The MB courts know the new Manitoba COVID recommendations are insufficient to protect Mbns. Such folly removing the mask mandate.

Masks won’t be mandatory when Manitoba students return to school this fall: The younger grades – Kindergarten to Grade 6 – will be in cohorts, while the older grades will have full class sizes with physical distancing in place. https://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/mobile/masks-won-t-be-mandatory-when-manitoba-students-return-to-school-this-fall-1.5535464/ …

The MB PC gov is against masks in schools, but is now “for” your children self screening as a defence against covid. This is what my PC MLA Bob Lagassé sent me as an official response to my safe September questions. How can a grade 1 student self screen, Mr. Lagassé?
