    Note: The Congressional Black Caucus PAC and former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick endorsed Congressman Mike Capuano, as did Congressman John Lewis, a civil rights icon. This makes the victory of Ayanna Pressley THAT much more impressive. She persisted and won.

    A little about : Her campaign slogan -- "Change Can't Wait" -- connects the hope of the Obama era to the urgency of the Trump era. Her go-to line is that "the people closest to the pain should be closest to the power."

    The incumbent losing in is... interesting. Considering his past pairings with the likes of Elizabeth Warren, Barney Frank and fights against bank bailouts and Bush tax cuts... 🤷‍♂️ He wasn't exactly a moderate.

    Any notion that this is a lefty ousting a moderate is silly. was a well-known figure in Massachusetts Democratic politics who just beat a congressman who'd been an early Medicare-for-all supporter, Iraq war opponent and critic of ICE's creation.

    Imagine the irony if the yuppies who moved to Somerville because Mayor Capuano made it cool are the reason for his ouster from Congress.

    The people actually-ing the use of "elected" here might not realize that there's *no other candidate* on the ballot. one of four MA districts where GOP just didn't field a candidate.

    An early August poll had Ayanna Pressley down 13 points, but look at this, with 7% reporting.

    Early votes from MA-07 (Capuano vs. Pressley) shows a very close race. Capuano 50.8% Pressley 49.2% 7% reporting

    Wow, Capuano only barely won his hometown of Somerville. That is a VERY bad sign for him. I don't see how he survives that, since Pressley will win Boston and that's a much larger share of the vote.
