    Q3: take advantage of sunny days. If it’s too cold to go outside I curl up by a window. Exercise seems to help. Sticking with a routine helps.

  6. A5. Don’t ask me to do things? Lol. I have so much on my to-do list that piles up and piles up. Knowing there’s one more thing I should but aren’t doing won’t help.

    A3. I don’t know... sometimes I feel like I have answers. Sometimes I think I’m recovering then it looks like there’s so much further to go. Medication helped. Sunshine helps. People gently loving me & being able to let them.

    A5: my mom cooks for me and makes sure I eat and this is the biggest thing I could ever ask for, especially because eating can be very difficult with the meds I’m on. My cousins and aunts invite me out. I appreciate when people encourage but don’t push.

    A:5 Ways to support me: listen, acknowledge this is real, don't try to "cure" me/belittle with random unproven remedies, listen...did I say listen?

    A:4 continued... I had physicians who had a suck it up attitude & blamed every symptom on depression until their staff told them how bad things were. Then they changed. One doc even hugged me. Others I fired bc they didn't change their attitudes. Some supported day 1

    A:4 Some family don't believe in depression bc of religion. I tend to stay away from them at least w that topic bc they trigger more issues with their non-support. Some struggle as well so they get it. Others don't struggle and take me out to get my mind off of things.

    A4: My Rheumatologist was very helpful with ensuring I found a good therapist to add to the team to help better manage my depression (seasonal and otherwise).

    A4: My care team is understanding and empathetic. They're working together to ensure things work out in my best interest medically while ensuring my Quality of Life improves.

    A:3 I eat 🤣 Turtle Chex Mix is my "drug" of choice. I also read, play with my dog, talk to trusted family, friends, and fellow lupies. Talking to those who are going through the same definitely helps.

    A4 : I didn't disclose to anyone. I just dealt with it. I think I told my closest friends I was ready to get out of town and had to for my sanity

    A4: Each of my doctors ask how my mental health is doing and whether I’m keeping in touch with my therapist. It’s probably because depression is on my medical but I appreciate it when they ask.

    A3: My biggest thing is trying to find joy in anything I can. I deal with depression year round and its of course compounded seasonally, so it's difficult to pull out of that space. So taking solace and joy in the little things. TV, Music, food, friends.
