    The Minnesota PUC has now also approved a route permit for the oil pipeline replacement project. That gives Enbridge the key approvals it needs to build the new line, although it still needs additional state and federal environmental permits.

    The problem is Steve, these people will not accept an "energy demand forecast" unless it aligns with Saint Greta; if they were impartial, they'd merely accept the EIA or IEA projected growth forecasts. Instead, these partisans will never accept . Build Line 3 now!

    Looks like we still have one branch of state gov at loggerheads with another. The MN Dept of Commerce tells the MN Public Utilities Commission it should deny a certificate of need for . The Dept says Enbridge has not provided an energy demand forecast as required by MN law.

    But Benjamin Benoit with the Leech Lake bands wants Enbridge to replace so the existing pipeline can be removed from his reservation. Says the damage to the environment of a spill on the existing Line 3 "would be nothing short of catastrophic."
