    When people claim that because they can run a node, a network will be decentralized in a meaningful sense, you know the kool aid has been thoroughly ingested. Unsurprisingly, these people take «thought-leaders’» word on what is. Sad!

    If you seriously believe you can outcompete a multimillion dollar company as an individual, and that you running a node will have any meaningful impact in decentralizing the network, you need to do more research my friend. You’ve been sold a faulty concept with deceptive language

    No, everyone is able to run a node and collect satoshis to route transactions. Unlike mining this is available to everyone. I would just run a node and undercut these "hubs" you predict will exist and the payments will route via me. High competition = lower fees.

    Users have no incentive to keep channels funded/ online, while companies will. Over time, these providers will become the go-to for routing payments, effectively acting as pmnt processors we see today. Indeed, these are vulnerable to crackdowns/regulations++
