🙌 say it how it is, not just in film but across society. This is not about being woke, this is a white privileged male accepting responsibility. take note

This wasn't just another 'woke' speech, he clearly sees this within the industry he works in. Well done to for his award, but also for humbly addressing the lack of opportunities for PoC within the industry, whether that be in acting, directing or production. 👏👏

Joaquin Pheonix did a very brave but great thing at the BAFTAS. The systematic racism has to be sorted out as soon as possible. It’s a disgrace that in 2020 people are still not getting credited for what they have done due to their skin colour or race.

  14. There was certainly no awkward laughter from, The Joker, following his Bafta win. More like, awkward silence! Congrats on the win, Joaquin, 4 calling out the lack of diversity in the industry and 4 not being 2 proud 2 admit you're part of the problem 👏🏻

  15. Thank you for using your platform to speak truth to power. Inspiring stuff. We need more of this - it applies to so many creative industries
