I feel nothing for an evil man who had so much hatred in their heart, mind all their life, making them savagely kill a man being just because of his skin color. A 1,000 years in prison would not change it. Prayers for healing closure for James Byrd's family.

Both the brother & son of opposed the execution of his murderers. Killing won't help us overcome the abject cruelty, hatred, & that cost him his life. My thoughts are with his family & all those who mourn his loss.

Damn shame didn't get a peaceful death. The execution was certainly much more humane than what happened to the victim. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Last time I saw John William King, he was being escorted away from the Jasper County Courthouse & directed an obscenity at the Byrd family. When the state of Texas executes King some of those same family members will be there. King has no remorse. Rest in justice.

21 years ago I lived in Jasper TX with for a year making the a film - Two Towns of Jasper - about the trials three men who dragged to his death. Tomorrow the ringleader of that horrible crime, John William King, will be executed.

I am confused as to why he was on death row for over 20 years. That cost the tax payers roughly $600k... before execution costs. Justice for and his loved ones.

This was, and still is, horrifying and reached well beyond Jasper. The details are nauseating and what they did to won’t ever be forgotten. Lethal injection is far too kind a punishment for him.
