Just to be clear, #JCVI has considered benefit of vaccination in preventing hospitalisations, deaths, and prevention of long covid and decided its not worth it for most 5-11yr olds? Based on risk:benefit? No consideration of disruption to education or community spread.

Just had confirmation too from the #JCVI that Learning Disabled people have now been placed in priority group 2 for the autumn booster, due to the fact that the risk of serious covid outcomes is greater than to people without a learning disability.

Got a letter from the #NHS inviting 14 yr old to get an autumn booster as she’s considered vulnerable. At the vaccination centre, the nurses & doctor refused to vaccinate her because of #JCVI criteria. What a waste of time & nerves. The UK is way behind 1/

I just don't get the vendetta against #asthma. Why does #jcvi and UK Gov feel the need to put our lives in danger? I did predict we wouldn't get the new variant booster, and that's exactly what's happening

JCVI have released their recommendation for 5-11yos. They estimate 85% had prior infection by end of Jan. They then take estimates for protection of prior infection against SYMPTOMATIC disease and apply it to estimates of SEVERE disease, thereby overestimating benefits by A LOT

Last year a group of asthmatics started a campaign to get us back into group 6 for the covid jabs. It didn't work & there is still a ridiculous criteria before we are eligible for further boosters. However, there seems to be a huge knock on effect on other areas of asthma care 1/
