    This year, the is even more special as we are celebrating 25th anniversary of the first protest led by intersex people. It took It took 15 years for the movement to reach Asia when Hiker Chiu came out publically.

    So, today is . Intersex people like me are born outside of binary gender. There is a wide range of how that presents, but we are neither male nor female by traditional definitions - down to our very biology. This is me. Every day of the year. 🏳️‍🌈

    Intersex, not DSD. No intersex person I have met - and I have met many more than most people - likes the term DSD. It implies we were "meant" to be a sex other than how we developed, and it justifies invasive genital surgeries just to make us "normal."

    It’s and as usual, there are people who are automatically deciding that I am non-binary. Being intersex doesn’t make me non-binary, it makes me intersex. Some intersex people are men, some are women, and some are non-binary. Stop generalising us 🙃

    Our bodies, our rights. I wish for a future where decisions about us, actually include us. Where our families/caregivers are not rushed into irreversible situations. I wish I didn’t think I needed “fixing” or that I was in the “wrong” body.
