Not sure if today is
#InternationalSolicitedDuckPicDay but it's certainly#FirstDayQuack for many of us, so introducing this splendid example from Dara Shikoh's album (Add. Or 3129, f 10r)pic.twitter.com/CXjGUyRBeY

We couldn't let
#InternationalSolicitedDuckPicDay pass without sharing our favourite#Orkney duck of all. This fabulous duck was drawn by Reverend James Wallace, historian and Minister of St Magnus Cathedral for his book A Description of the Isles of Orkney, published in 1693.

Cheers to
@TheMERL for soliciting our best duck pics. Here are four from our collection of more than 100 drawings by John James Audubon.#InternationalSolicitedDuckPicDay https://digitalcollections.library.harvard.edu/catalog?f%5Brepository%5D%5B%5D=Houghton&q=duck+audubon&search_field=all_fields …pic.twitter.com/BeJHKRiZ8a

Just for the title alone, we're gonna reprise this beauty!

As is sometimes the case with our catalogue you don't necessarily see what you first expect (!) but here are some nice actual ducks (and friends) that we found

The rare Turkish Inflatable duck, captured in this photograph taken in 1967. You can spot them by their exquisite bowties, if you approach very carefully they may even hold your hand. http://akkasah.org/results//viewer?image=153170&singleImage=true …

It may be the
#FirstDayBack for many, but@TheMERL have declared it#FirstDayQuack and we're running with it. Here's one of our favs: a Mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) painted by Sarah Stone in 1788.#InternationalSolicitedDuckPicDay pic.twitter.com/AwaLuof9lF

Our friends
@TheMERL have declared today#InternationalSolicitedDuckPicDay & they’re asking everyone to send them their favourite ducks for#FirstDayQuack. Of course it’s Cuddy’s Ducks for us.

The ducks in my village are basically nightmare fuel. They look scary, wander loose, and bully the cars. (We secretly love them.)

Our favourite duck is always Cuddy’s duck.
