    Hey my tickets booked by you say Mr. I am a female and my title is Dr. Your costumer support said it's because "Low cost carriers don't recognise the title Dr." So why does Dr get changed to Mr? Is it because you think a doctor must be a male?

    Can't speak for all, but I know many female academics did it as a way to mark their expertise against norms of 'being modest' about their achievements: . After all, not many people do achieve a PhD in the end

    Oooh! Attempt at a put-down, was that? It didn't work. I am one of many who use their academic title on Twitter, as a riposte to those who call us . PhD took 10 years, & was damn hard. I am proud of myself. Written off at school. Please allow me my pleasure!

    Session convener just asked colleague if she preferred being introduced as Dr., Mrs. or Ms. The fact that her info states she is a full professor, NIH RO1 grant holder, PhD, that they invited was not a clue??

    Totally not the point of her wonderful op-ed, but I love that Prof. Anita Hill refers, correctly, to Dr. Blasey with her title, which she earned.
