The Zaraysk Bison Cow is an Ice Age sculpture, carved out of mammoth ivory. It is over 20,000 years old. Interestingly, we know that both of its left legs were broken off deliberately before it was buried. It's located in the Zaraysk Museum of Art & History in Russia.

Some of my favourite
#IceAgeArt has a childlike simplicity — yet is wonderfully accomplished. This fabulous charcoal horse from Tito Bustillo Cave in Asturias, Spain, was drawn in the Magdalenian ~17,000-12,000 years ago. Image: World Heritage Photos pic.twitter.com/vkbzHPtgi3

Ooft, the past couple of days have been horrifically stressful. So here’s one of my favourite examples of simplistic, yet stunning,
#iceageart. This “mask” from El Castillo is a natural rock that looks like an animal’s head, which was completed by adding an eye and a nostril! pic.twitter.com/aQSDGNXbUO

The Creeping Hyena is a Magdalenian (12ka - 17ka) sculpture found in La Madeleine, France. It is made from mammoth ivory and would have been part of an atlatl (spear-thrower). You can clearly see the hook, where the projectile would attach, underneath the hyena's rear.
