What truth shall I tell in red this time? Where shall I strike for the kill and force you into hopelessness?

Go on strike, comrade Don't go to work today Leave the tools behind It's time now to fight back Ten to the strike A hundred to the strike To the strike—mother—I'm going too A hundred to the strike A thousand to the strike I strike for them—mother—and they for me #IStandwithCUPE

Raised in a coalition politics culture full of compromises, the picket line isn't my natural habitat. But UK university work conditions are now so hollowed out an academic career is no longer feasible for many of my junior colleagues. I strike for their rights and pay. #ucuRISING

I don’t want to strike… every lost days pay is a huge hit to my family. But sometimes you need to stand up and say enough Is enough. I strike for me, I strike for my dad, I strike for my friends in fear of having no job! It’s draining but for the greater good #rmt

Swathed in a black apparel combined with ivory purse clings on my frame, I strike for a pose in random corner outside my chamber. Although it was a fortuitous snap, I still look flawlessly at the lens to bewitch the promenade visitors that day, not just seconds but continually.

#ucuRISING Lovely to see student #solidarity across social media and on picket lines. The decision to strike is never an easy one. Today I strike for a sector that has been decimated & for my friends across the country on temporary contracts facing constant career uncertainty

Very touching to have some of our LSCA first year students on the picket line to show solidarity with the UCU strike action (and they delivered hot drinks and biscuits!!). #onstrikeforfairpay

I would go a step further and say that it is precisely because I do care that I strike for my students and future students. Higher Education cannot go on like this (and many other run down sectors)

They say we strike cause we don't care about students. We do. But this absurdity has gone too far - stagnated salaries, inequality, precarity, slashed pensions. So we strike. It's our only means of getting back our dignity & ensuring our students' get the education they deserve. twitter.com/ucu/status/159…

<baggertekst> As a union man I'm wise To the lies of the company spies And I don't get fooled by the factory rules 'Cause I always read between the lines And I always get my way If I strike for higher pay When I show my card to the Scotland Yard And this is what I say

I strike for the CWU, for my colleagues and for the rights of every working class person. I also strike in honour of all our relatives who fought so hard in the past to get us the rights we have enjoyed for generations. Don’t ever forget what they did for us. Protect it.
