  20. CPJ condemns the Kyrgyz supreme court decision upholding journalist Azimjon Askarov's life sentence. Askarov was arrested on June 15, 2010, while he was documenting alleged human rights abuses by authorities. At CPJ's 2019 , attendees wrote messages of support to Askarov.
