    Little chill in the air across central IL this morning. A few locations west of the Illinois River fell into the upper 40s prior to daybreak!

    Still looking at the potential for severe weather Tuesday. Looking at the latest GFS run the main threats will be damaging wind gusts, a brief tornado, and maybe even some isolated large hail.

    Yesterday, we received the first 2" hail reports in our forecast area so far this year. Here's a quick look at the supercell storm that produced the damaging hail in Earlville, IL. So much hail fell that it took hours for it to melt!

    Tuesday afternoon saw potent storms track across northern IL, bringing a few swaths of severe hail and damaging winds, and even possibly a tornado in/near Minooka and Channahon, IL. This potential tornado area is where we will likely send a damage survey team on Wednesday.
