    is apparently going to reach Portugal and Spain as a post-tropical cyclone with close to hurricane force winds. It is not unheard of for post-tropical storms to approach Europe, but no storm with hurricane force has affected Spain/Portugal since at least 1851.

    Hurricane 🌀is transitioning and may be losing its hurricane character, but hurricane force winds are expected to impact local regions of the Portugal🇵🇹 west coast and the system is still considered tropical. It's at least a very rare event.
