Thank you for the huge groundswell of support throughout Clare! We need to use that positivity to affect real change and to do so, we need you to vote. I'm asking for your No. 1 vote this Sat as the Green Party candidate for County Clare

Hey all I need your help. I’m researching the
#HomeToVote movement during#repealthe8th for MA Social Media Communications. I’m researching what motivated the Irish Diaspora to mobilise in such significant numbers. Did you or someone you know come home to vote? Please retweet -
I’m on a train, about to sleep in a pod in Helsinki Airport before an early flight so I can be
#HomeToVote. It might be my last chance before I lose my vote (because neither immigrants nor emigrants can vote
)
If I catch ANY OF YOU voting FF, I will actually clatter ye #GE2020Show this thread -

Five years ago today. I voted Yes, with these two alongside me, before dropping them to school. Then I drove to work, sobbing as I heard all the
#HometoVote stories flood in. I remember himself telling me to find a quiet room to go lie down in for a while!

I remember watching with absolute joy & pride as Irish citizens from across the world flew home to cast their votes in Repeal the 8th & same-sex marriage referenda. We may very well have our own
#hometovote when a Border Poll is called, this group will be incredibly important. -
One year ago today, as I flew over Ireland, I took this picture. Undoubtedly joined in the sky alongside thousands of Irish women and men, making the journey home, to cast their vote; to change the landscape of our country forever. And that we did. We repealed.

And then in the final days before the referendum, first as a trickle, then a flood of
#hometovote posts started to appear. 10,000s of Irish people travelling hundreds of thousands of miles to overturn this horrendous law. pic.twitter.com/ZkrtnFsZy8

After my previous run-in with Ireland’s blasphemy law, it’s encouraging to see that it could be repealed soon. Lots of fine Irish people will once again need to go
