    Don’t sit on the fence recall is one of my favourite formats with GCSE students. Instant gauge of confidence depending on where answers are placed, marked in class and misconceptions instantly rectified. Winner! ✅

    Well Y11 historians for their first lesson back, got stuck into the Weimar Germany extracts from the SS Officer’s Armchair. It worked really well as a recall format for the key events we’d already covered. A great foundation to kick on from. ✅

    On this day in 1650. Scottish prisoners from the Battle of Dunbar were incarcerated in Durham Cathedral. Conditions were horrendous and hundreds died.
