    Two months ago, I was critical of Turkey's reconversion of . Now comes the much more appalling (and ugly) reconversion of , the second most precious Byzantine church in Istanbul. It serves neither Islam nor the Ottoman heritage - just parochial triumphalism.

    Istanbul’s Chora Church, converted from a museum into a mosque earlier this year, before and after - meaning now. A crying (literally) shame.

    Very sad news for the team personally. Gli, the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque's favourite feline resident, has died at the age of 16. Whenever we visited Hagia Sophia, Gli would always look stunning and beautiful. We will miss her. May she rest in peace 😑
