    Absolutely true!

    So much data is potentially useful in health care, and in managing wellness which I see as high growth area. The challenge IMO is optimizing data for efficient storage & processing and that includes how a health system can parse it + any necessary security tagging

    Bonus: They better look for what they need for value based care. Patients need to give contemporaneous, thx politics for giving me this word, feedback on care plans. Caregivers need to be that google search replacement they claim to hate.

    Top 3 tips for companies looking to engage with patients: 1) Ask up front what a vendor's patient readiness is, what effort is required of the patient to get connected--forms, apps or software to download and set up, etc. 2) Plan privacy/security diligently 3) Test, esp UX

    We now need all privacy/data governance people to use that as their motto as well. I embraced "saying no is too easy, figuring out how to get to yes is the goal" a while back.

    T4: Another aspect of this privacy question is "how does my digital identity get matched for authentication/authorization to data and for data resolution purposes (finding my chart)", another nut to crack...some good work on that in ONC's FAST, Carequality, HL7

    T4: This is a huge question so to answer generally I think we will find ways to scale new PGD data sets and use cases for collaboration on them in parallel and alongside emerging data transfer modalities (both communication + exchange of PHI) other over the next few years

    T3: I think we will see much more of this type of collaboration over time. Happen to be working with a co-lead from in an industry collab of vendors working on a new interoperable secure messaging standard--so that one secure app's messaging can talk to another.

    What happens most often these days is an email or a text that has a link to a secure . Unfortunately the of most portals is less than optimal (Trying to be nice!) and the patient give up, and just calls on the phone

    In India almost all the doctors in solo practice use . Actually the ones I know personally working at big chain hospitals also use the platform.

    T2: The best option, imo, are patient testimonials. PT's should talk about how they use pedometers. Diabetes patients talk about how blood sugar journals lead to better outcomes. People need real examples.

    Couldn’t agree more. Providing options for advocates to connect to one another is important.

    T1: Co's need to go where their customers are. Educational messages deliver value and people will respond. The best apps are the ones that allow both a broad reach and a secure 1 on 1 communication option.
