Love the BBC’s DIY SOS for Grenfell but surely this is something the government should have been doing to help the community.

Speaking at the Report launch into the tower fire. It wasn't the firefighters that let people down, it was the Government.

Hi were you aware that the community centre built for is actually boarded up so that no-one can use it. The programme was great for each site but the truth is, it’s all boarded up as though it’s “unsafe” & totally out of bounds to the community 😐

Isn't it just mind blowing that a DIY programme with the help and generosity of hundreds of people and businesses, has done for what our pathetic could not. Absolutely shameful.

Even with our knowladge this is startling. Just how broken is our fire & building standards regimes. Anticipate many more twist and turns in the post case findings & reporting. Concerning however is lack of robust response strategies for 474 other towers.

  13. you and your team did a great job, doing the big build. Hopefully it will bring all the community together. Amazing 😉 projects 👍🏻 to be fair the government should be doing loads of stuff but they don’t.

To be clear - abrupt. I’m sorry that it was so challenging for you to be communicated with in a more engaging way - but let’s face it it’s not the first riding the attempt we’ve seen.

Prior to it was standard practice amongst most landlords to do unsuitable, insufficient & very poor & inadequate FRAs known as "Type 1". It is actually against the law to not have a "suitable and sufficient" fire risk assessment.
